PET THERAPY PREPARATION | Thursdays, 4:30 PM – 5:15 PM
At “Pet Therapy Preparation” you will learn how to prepare your dog for the best job they will ever have. Your dog will learn how to stay calm in stressfull situations, how to maneuver around wheelchairs, walkers, and how to behave in other nursing home environments. You will learn how to be a team member and how to advocate for your dog. You will also learn the proper way to introduce your dog to children, seniors, and rules for therapy dog work. These classes do not guarantee that your dog will automatically become a therapy dog. These classes will prepare you to know what’s expected for when you contact therapy dog evaluators.
