A BIG THANK YOU to all 9 personalities!
Our Adopt A Personality event has come to a close! Our personalities helped to raise $5,390!
We’d like to congratulate John Wright, President of the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce on being the first adopted, and also raising the most money at $1,362! WAY TO GO!
We’d also like to thank our other participants for allowing us to use their likenesses for this event. Meteorologist Jason Dunning, Judy Braham and the lovely ladies of Gulfcoast Women in Networking, Roxxy the pet therapy dog, Felicia Spencer, Captain Stumpy of Stumpy’s Free Ride Shuttle TV & Media Productions, and Bob Alexander of Seaview 104.9and WCCF AM1580.
Just like the animals at our shelter, not everyone gets adopted right away, but we will never stop until they find their forever homes! Follow the links below to donate to your favorite personality!
What is Adopt-a-Personality? Adopt-a-Personality is a virtual adoption fundraiser held on Facebook where people can donate toward our 9 local personalities’ “adoption fee” of a minimum $1,000. It is a fun and easy way to help raise money for the homeless animals of Suncoast Humane Society as well as our many services and programs. 100% of all virtual “adoption fees” will benefit Suncoast Humane Society.
How long is the fundraiser? Adopt-a-Personality starts on June 10, 2019 at 12:00pm and ends on July 10, 2019 at 11:59pm.
Where can people donate toward “adoption fees”? Follow the link posted on our personalities’ pages. Each personality or litter will be set up with a Facebook fundraiser where anyone can donate toward their adoption fee. No Facebook account? No problem! Donate in person at our Adoption Center located at 6781 San Casa Drive, Englewood, FL 34224.
Is there a goal? The goal is for each personality or litter to reach their “Adoption Fee” of a minimum of $1,000.
Can the goal of $1,000 be exceeded? ABSOLUTELY! We encourage everyone to smash their goal.
Is there a prize? The personality or litter who raises the most amount of money wins bragging rights and recognition. But the real prize is being an essential element and counterpart of our mission – to reduce the number of homeless animals and improve the quality of life.
Join us in our efforts to get these mutts adopted:
This mutt here has a lot of potential to be your perfect Florida pet. Jason Dunning can sense a storm coming and will give you all the warning you need to always be prepared. Whatever your life schedule may be like, he will always give you the proper welcome when you get home. He also cares about preserving and protecting the ocean and its inhabitants. Jason’s happy forever home awaits just in time for the hurricane season.
If you’re looking for a Domestic Longhair female, Felicia “FeeNom” Spencer is your girl. Be ready to spend a lot of money on all kinds of training classes. Her old-fashioned, Englewood roots raised her not to miss a single obedience, agility or manners class. Ideal for experienced owners who are ready to conquer the world together. This FeeNomenal mutt needs a great leader and a co-warrior, someone to match her strength, sweetness and kindness. Her destination is world domination.
Ahoy Mateys! Meet the friendliest pirate of the seas. Capt. Stumpy doesn’t want your treasures, he only cares about your safety. This vandal of the hearts will make sure you get home safely after you’ve had a few too many pints with the British Open Pups Muttley Crew. This two-legged mutt would make a wonderful addition to our Pet Therapy team, lifting up all those in need of some love and a DD. Keep up the great work, Stumpy, and you’ll get adopted in no time.
Royalty. You know it when you see it. Full disclaimer: this bloke will require a lot of everything. Will do best as the only pet, as John Wright will require a lot of your time making him feel taken care of, groomed and loved. Lucky for you though, after all the spa appointments and shopping trips to the pet store, the amount of love and affection you’ll receive back will be worth it. If you love to live luxuriously and are looking for a partner in leisure, you’ve just found your lifelong mate.
Now here’s a litter to take note of. These mutts have been around a few blocks, but don’t let that affect your decision to adopt them. The Boca Beacon litter knows about a thing of two, because they’ve seen it all on the island. They will fetch you your newspaper filled with useful knowledge in gorgeous color print. They never miss an opportunity to share exciting wonders of our world with everyone around. Adopting these mutts would give you a first class ticket to destination loved and informed.
The Gulfcoast Women In Networking is that litter your parents warned you about. Not because they are a terrible influence, but because these too-good-to-be-true ladies will leave you wanting to adopt them all. They claim to always treat you right, and offer a great deal on Scooby snacks to anyone looking for a project. Don’t let this picture fool you, there are about 50 or so more of them. This litter is ideal for anyone looking to start a big family right away. Ideal to a large home without other animals (space might be an issue), and make sure you have a few acres of land because they’ll need sufficient room for socialization, networking and activities.
Pets like Roxxy usually get adopted fast, even the three-legged ones. Roxxy’s adoration and gift for providing comfort will win you over immediately. This furry tripod will lift up your spirits and hold you when you need it most. Definitely a threat to our friendly pirate Capt. Stumpy. These two should form a band named “Here4U” and start touring right away. The world needs their super powers. If you’re looking for a super hero pet – look no more. Roxxy is a real catch, but you better be a good runner to catch up with her awesomeness.
Here’s another mutt born to care deeply and a great candidate for our Pet Therapy crew. Bob Alexander would be ideal for a family that lives near a mountain, with a mountain top from which he can shout about all the greatness around us. Bob is as friendly as they come, he loves to be on air, and his desire to inform the masses will leave you feeling on cloud 1580 AM. Please adopt Bob and give him the mountain top he dreams of.
And last but not least, meet British Open Pups. These “cheeky little monkeys” won’t fetch you your morning newspaper, but will be there when you need them most. These pups will fetch you a pint at the end of a long, action-packed day at the office. They make great listeners and will enjoy your company no matter how late it is. A fierce competition for the band of the month, Here4U.
