Executive Assistant to Chief Executive Officer

We are looking for a competent Executive Assistant to provide direct support to our Chief Executive Officer, but serve the agency’s purpose. The Ideal Candidate has outstanding oral and written communication skills and able to successfully work with various customer bases. Must possess a spirit of joy and possibilities, a ‘solution can be found’ way and realize that when working in a shelter with animals and the people who need them, life gets messy. Responsibilities

  • Act as the point of contact between the executive, donors and prospective gift givers
  • Undertake the tasks of receiving calls, taking messages and routing correspondence
  • Compose letters and on-line communication
  • Professionally compose and disperse business, fundraising and marketing communications
  • Maintain diary, arrange meetings and appointments and provide reminders
  • Coordinate agency tours and organize Capital Campaign events (small and large)
  • Produce high level reports and presentations utilizing data gathered through various programs
  • Develop and carry out an efficient documentation and filing system
  • Take dictation and minutes and accurately enter data
  • Monitor office supplies and research advantageous deals or suppliers

Skills

  • Proven experience as an executive administrative assistant, senior executive assistant or in other secretarial position
  • Full comprehension of office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Proficiency in English
  • Ability to learn industry specific software programs (i.e., ShelterLuv and Little Green Light)
  • Understanding and application of basic graphic design and branding guidelines
  • Exemplary planning and time management skills
  • Up-to-date with advancements in office gadgets and applications
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
  • High level verbal and written communications skills
  • Discretion and confidentiality

Social Media Coordinator

Suncoast Humane Society is looking to hire a full-time Social Media Coordinator. The candidate is one whom can communicate Suncoast Humane Society’s mission and brand in a positive, authentic way, that will attract potential adopters, donors, visitors, and volunteers. This position serves as an integral part of the marketing team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating and publishing relevant, creative and high-quality content on all social media platforms, assisting with photography and videography for storytelling, maintaining and actively collecting for the content library new assets, working closely with the Communications & PR Manager to prepare for any campaigns, events, fundraising, etc., and creating any necessary collateral (copy, infographics, etc.) for internal departments as requested. Experience in a variety of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) is preferred, as well as photography and graphic design. Thrift Store Manager

Suncoast Humane Society is looking for a creative, flexible full time Thrift Store manager. The ideal candidate would have prior retail sales experience and management experience. Must be organized and dependable with the ability to multitask. This position is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the store including, sales, merchandising, operations, volunteer scheduling and supervision. Loss prevention, expense control and adherence to all guidelines and procedures to ensure efficient daily operations. Management of daily routine of store activities, cash register, receiving donations, pricing, store cleanup, etc. All thrift store proceeds benefit the animals, programs and services of Suncoast Humane Society.


Volunteer Coordinator

Suncoast Humane Society, a non-profit organization, is looking for a highly motivated individual to oversee their volunteer program. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining an effective volunteer program that meets the needs of all of our programs. Candidate must be highly organized with strong attention to detail, have strong written and oral communication skills, must be a team player, and must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment. Compassion for people and animals a must.


Adoption Specialist

This position is responsible for greeting customers, receiving phone calls and providing the highest quality of customer service to our clients as we assist them in finding an appropriate animal companion. Through conversation and education the Customer Service/Adoption Specialist matches potential adopters with an appropriate pet. This includes introducing guests to adoptable animals, explaining the adoption process, assisting with the application, and processing the adoption. Thrift Store Receiving Clerk

Suncoast Humane Society is looking to hire a Thrift Store Receiving Clerk at our Englewood Thrift Store, one or two days during the week, plus weekends. This individual would be responsible for all incoming donations. Tasks would include unloading, sorting, separating and stocking donated goods in the warehouse, including furniture, being able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time. This individual would have a good eye for valuable items, including clothing, jewelry, furniture, housewares and small items. This individual would also be trained in other areas, such as cashier, customer service, pricing goods, daily register reconciliation, computer data entry, and other duties. Animal Care Specialist

Suncoast Humane Society is looking to hire a full time Animal Care Specialist. Responsibilities include: maintaining a safe and sanitary facility, providing humane handling and care for all shelter animals, assuring proper nutrition, housing, and basic medical needs on a daily basis. Veterinary or shelter experience is highly preferred. Experience working with animals or in a shelter environment preferred. Veterinarian

Suncoast Humane Society is looking to hire a full-time, passionate and experienced Veterinarian. Our vision is to celebrate a community whose pets are safe, protected and loved. We are located in Southwest Florida where you can enjoy beautiful weather year-round with a plethora of outdoor activities and just a short day trip from destinations such as Orlando, Miami and the Florida Keys. The Veterinarian is an invaluable member of the team. This is a skilled, professional position requiring the performance of surgical sterilization, preventive health care, and overseeing medical examination and treatment of animals received at Suncoast Humane Society. This includes supervising surgical assisting staff. A Doctoral Degree of Veterinarian Medicine is required, and two years of experience is preferred.
