Veterinarian
 
Suncoast Humane Society is looking to hire a full time, passionate and experienced Veterinarian. Our vision is to celebrate a community whose pets are safe, protected and loved. We are located in Southwest Florida where you may enjoy beautiful weather year-round with a plethora of outdoor activities and just a short day trip from destinations such as Orlando, Miami and the Florida Keys. The Veterinarian is an invaluable member of the team. This is a skilled, professional position requiring the performance of surgical sterilization, preventive health care, and overseeing medical examination and treatment of animals received at Suncoast Humane Society. This includes supervising surgical assisting staff. A Doctoral Degree of Veterinarian Medicine is required, and two years of experience is preferred. Director of Innovative Programs

Suncoast Humane Society is welcoming applicants for the position of Director of Innovative Programs to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who is passionate about positive alternatives to shelter surrenders, fostering, deeply engaged volunteers, and all manner of programs dedicated to the human-animal bond. Data collection, management, reporting and utilization to create performance-based measures is critical to leading dynamic teams, including direct reports of a Volunteer Coordinator, Pet Behaviorist and Foster Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have strong management and leadership experience, as well as partnership building and be able to motivate a team to accomplish more than they know possible. Bookkeeper

Suncoast Humane Society is welcoming applicants for a Bookkeeper to help manage AP/AR, payroll, Quickbooks, and other data systems reports. The Bookkeeper must be comfortable learning new data systems and working with various team members and systems to design reports for stakeholders. Attention to detail is a paramount. Foster Coordinator

Suncoast Humane Society is welcoming applicants for the position of Foster Coordinator. The Foster Coordinator is responsible for the general health, wellness, and organization of all animals in the various foster programs; recruiting and providing training, mentorship, and 24-hour on call assistance for all foster volunteers; and managing and maintaining organization of all foster programs and materials. The position requires patience, team work, and collaboration. The Foster Coordinator will also contribute to a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, along with being creative and having a strong love for animals. Animal Behavior Program Specialist

Suncoast Humane Society is welcoming applicants for the position of Animal Behavior Program Specialist. This position is responsible for assisting with evaluating canine or feline for temperament, documenting behavior assessments, behavior modifications and progress in current pet management program. Assist with leading and supervision of designated volunteers to achieve annual goals and objectives. Works cooperatively with other managers, staff and volunteers to enrich the lives of animals at the Animal Care Center, thus improving the animal’s well-being. Certified Dog Trainer and Behavior Consultant preferred. Degree or certification in an animal behavior related field preferred. Knowledge, understanding and ability to work with pet management programs such as Shelterluv preferred. Animal Care Specialist

Suncoast Humane Society is looking for a full time Animal Care Specialist. Responsibilities include: maintaining a safe and sanitary facility, providing humane handling and care for all shelter animals, assure proper nutrition, housing and basic medical needs are met on a daily basis. Veterinary or shelter experience is highly preferred. Experience working with animals or in a shelter environment preferred. Truck Driver

Suncoast Humane Society is accepting applications for a full time truck driver for our thrift stores in Englewood and Venice. The right candidate will pick up and deliver furniture, boxes of household items, and other goods as assigned. This position will have an assigned helper to assist with loading, unloading and picking up donations. Excellent customer service skills required.
