Veterinarian - Full Time

A progressive humane society in Southwest Florida is seeking a full time veterinarian with an interest in shelter medicine. We operate a Spay/Neuter and Preventive Health Care Clinic. Also, health screening, wellness examinations, and spay/neuter of adoptable shelter animals are among the required duties. Florida license is necessary.

Development & Major Gift Manager

To develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy to expand support of financial resources for Suncoast Humane Society.

The following statements described the principal functions of this job and its scope of responsibility, but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements. Assists in the analysis of current income sources, including target audience, development, marketing and total fund raising efforts.
• Research foundations and corporate grant opportunities.
• Develop and submit grant proposals. Track and document progress. Submit required reports.
• Research corporations and businesses to identify prospective sponsors.
• Develop a Community Partnership program that builds relationships with corporations and businesses.
• Create and maintain corporate sponsorship levels.
• Prioritize involvements with area chambers and service organizations to strengthen our business support base.
• Work with the Director of Donor Relations to develop a Major Gifts program, widening our area of support and securing our financial future.
• Work with Director of Donor Relations to promote the planned giving program.
• Oversee the development of publications.
• Conduct interviews with media as assigned or approved by Executive Director.
• Fulfills speaking engagements as approved by the Executive Director.
• Promotes the mission and goals of Suncoast Humane Society.

• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Thorough knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques of fund development.
• Thorough knowledge of and skill in grant writing and management, and major donor work.
• Detailed knowledge and skills in the use of computer applications such as Word, Excel, The Raisers Edge, and In Design.
• Experience with design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Microsoft Publisher.
• Ability to prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are: Changes in workload; changes in assignment; pressures of deadlines.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others.
• Strong attention to detail with high degree of accuracy.
• Goal Oriented self-starter with ability to multi task.
• Ability to supervise staff in a professional manner.
• Proven experience in digital media and web-media.
